From Christiane, of Truly You Events:
We had such a blast being inspired by the colors and traditions of Cinco de Mayo for this bridal shower!

Anyone who knows Nerrisa knows that she loves to party, so our goal was to create a colorful, light hearted shower where guests would actually have fun! The invitations asked guests to join us for a, “Bridal shower fiesta honoring our favorite senorita”. Of course, we hosted the event over Cinco de Mayo weekend, and served red & white sangria as guests arrived. The favors were mini bottles of Nerrisa’s favorite tequila, with hand stamped favor tags that read “Gracias”. We scored the rubber stamps from Paper Source and were super happy with how this DIY project came together. Another beautiful DIY element was created by Nerrisa’s Mom for the shower. Lillian had custom prayer cards made with the patron saint of Mexico, Our Lady of Guadalupe, on the front. On the back, she encouraged the group to keep the newlyweds in their prayers as they prepare to become husband and wife!

Some of my other favorite elements of the day were the photo booth, family style menu and signage above the bar. Our contacts at Distrito were kind enough to let us take over the signs above the bar within the event space. We used the first sign to welcome guests, and dubbed the day “Cinco de Bisa”, which is Nerrisa’s childhood nickname. On the middle sign, we gave the group a play by play and on the end, we encouraged guests to share their photos with us on social media. Once our beautiful bride arrived and everyone settled in, we enjoyed a delicious family style menu featuring some of Bisa’s favorites, like fish tacos, guacamole and chicken enchiladas.

The only “traditional” item we did was bridal shower bingo, but the game cards were made with a bright pink chevron border and the maids handed out margarita mix to the bingo winners as gifts were being opened. After gifts, we hopped in Distrito’s VW Bug that is normally used as a dining table and flipped on a few sombreros for a few fun group photos. All in all, it was the perfect fun-focused shower for our party girl bride.
