Field of Sunflowers by Aaron Pierce for Commonwealth Proper

I hope you’re enjoying a lovely Friday!  I’m so happy to be featuring today this lovely shoot by Aaron Pierce for Commonwealth Proper and Jessica Pineda {hair and makeup}.  It was a beautiful late summer day, and their inspiration came from a field of sunflowers, the end of a Bloc Party song, as well as a bride on her wedding day.

From Jessica:

I was inspired simply driving by this beautiful vast sunflower field right outside of Longwood Gardens.  It seemed to spread out so far that I just pictured getting lost in there like another, very serene, world.  I feel like the reason I love styling hair and/or make-up for weddings is that it is the happiest day in a woman’s life, but it is also unique to each bride.  I could instantly picture a bride taking a moment to herself in the sun in this gorgeous setting just enjoying that feeling, her “Private Kind of Happiness.”

It’s been a great ‘week of firsts’ for Delancey and Penn.  I’m so happy that the blog is finally out there for everyone to see, and I’m so grateful for the support and kind words I’ve received from friends, family, past clients, and people in the wedding industry so far.  I can’t help but be excited about what’s in store for Delancey and Penn, over the next few months as we establish ourselves in the greater Philadelphia wedding market, but also throughout the next year and even beyond as we hopefully reach and inspire many people out there.  The future looks bright, like this day and these sunflowers, and I’m certainly enjoying my own moment of happiness as I wrap up this first week of hopefully many, many more on Delancey and Penn.
